Van hire group Northgate is on target to double its year-end revenue to £4.4m in its retail hire division.
Northgate Vehicle Hire, which has depots in Blaydon, Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees and Wallsend, is on track to double its year end revenue from its retail hire product to £4.4m, it said this morning.
The firm said it has enjoyd "tremendous success" for its low-priced, one-day van hire, while website bookings have also increased year-on-year by 312%.
Standardised pricing was introduced throughout all of Northgate’s UK depots earlier this year - a move which certainly looks to have paid off.
Marketing manager Jonathan Pearce: “We re-launched our retail hire offering in January and, since then, it has quite literally gone through the roof.
"Our customers have access to extremely competitive rates and, as a company, Northgate is becoming more associated with retail hire, in addition to our better known ‘complete fleet solutions’ for businesses.
"We’re all set to be 100% up on the last financial year and can only anticipate further growth in this area as we approach 2013.”
