A sales and marketing director from the North East has been honoured with an MBE for her work helping her brother’s firm grow into a global success story.
Jacqui Miller, a director at North East-based Miller International, has received an MBE for services to industry and international trade.
Miller was established in 1978 by Jacqui’s elder brother Keith, their brother Gary also joined in 1979 and she completed the sibling team in 1981.
Starting out as a mobile welding service based in an allotment shed, the business has since grown to become an international manufacturer with a worldwide customer base.
Having helped establish routes into markets such as India and Chine, Jacqui is pushing the boundaries of other new markets, including Australia, the Middle East and Russia.
She actively partakes in meetings with the UKTI and the CBI, as well as being a member of the Genesis Initiative, a forum established to advise the government on current topics and challenges facing SME businesses.
