China buys stake in Heathrow

Chinese sovereign welath fund China Investment Corporation (CIC) has reportedly invested in a 10% stake in London's Heathrow airport owner. <br />
The Heathrow company currently owns stakes in London's Stansted airport, Southampton, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports.
The UK purchase comes after some other countries have raised concerns about selling key assets to Chinese firms.
In the US, President Barack Obama recently stepped in to stop a wind farm deal involving Chinese firm Ralls Corp on national security grounds.
American car parts manufacturer A123 has also faced scrutiny in recent months for developing IP with taxpayer dollars and then enabling China to invest in the new technolgy - potentially relinquishing control. of it
The US had also alleged that Chinese firms Huawei and ZTE are security risks and warned its firms against doing business with them.
