Big deal for Aspire

Friday 1 February 2013 5:00

Gateshead managed services provider Aspire Technology Solutions has completed work on a £500,000 contract.

The contract – one the firm’s largest to date – was to deliver a secure WAN, Wide Area Network, infrastructure across five sites, a full IT support service and data centre hosting   for the O’Brien Group.

The O’Brien Group includes waste management and recycling, demolition and dismantling, asbestos removal, land remediation and architectural salvage divisions and has sites in Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Teesside.

Paul Beat, sales executive for Aspire said: “Due to the expanding demographic nature of their business, O’Brien’s needed to centralise their ICT infrastructure, build in disaster recovery in order to secure their critical business systems and add flexibility to their network so that new sites could be amalgamated into the IT estate easily.

“To facilitate this growth, we designed and implemented a private WAN which terminates at one of our data centres where we host their core services centrally. This has vastly improved connectivity speeds and enabled O’Brien’s employees to access the centralised software applications from all company sites.

“Furthermore, we have provided the business with a disaster recovery solution via our online backup service. All business systems are backed up to our secondary data centre in London so that company data is protected at all times and can be restored quickly should the need arise.”
