Director swaps cricket for rugby

Newcastle Falcons has announced the appointment of Mike Elliott as its new commercial director.

Elliot currently serves as the commercial director of Durham County Cricket Club will join the Falcons within the next few weeks with a remit to drive rugby club’s work within the business community.

He will work alongside Duncan Edward who is to take on the role of sales and marketing director with a focus on growing the business among fans and Melanie Magee, director of the Falcons Community Foundation.

Falcons CEO Paul Varley said: “Mike has a strong track record of delivering success with the business community from his time at DCCC and previous to that at Newcastle Racecourse and we are delighted that he is joining the Falcons.

“This is a further step in securing the right team to deliver on our vision for the future and we are looking forward to Mike joining the team.”
