Continental opportunity for top talent

Monday 7 January 2013 5:00

Unemployed or under-employed North East graduates can now access 13-week placements across Europe from this month thanks to a new scheme.

Accentuate (North East) is running the programme to help applicants develop knowledge and skills acquired through their UK degree programme with the view to making them more employable on their return to the region.

Accentuate has successful bid for money from the European Union to pay all the costs associated with the placements, including flights, accommodation, local transport and a financial allowance sufficient for 3 meals every day.

"At the end of the placements, participants will have developed new higher level work skills, plus language and social skills, all of which will improve their chances of permanent employment in the UK or abroad", said Rick McCordall co-founder and managing director of Accentuate.

“We are looking for North East graduates who will see this as a great opportunity to enjoy living in another great European city for three months and really help enhance their career opportunities. Having travelled and work abroad when I was younger, I know how much it can improve self confidence, social skills and your CV.”

Successful applicants will be selected over the coming weeks and will travel from February 2013. Any graduates who feel this would benefit their career to send in a cv and covering letter through the website www.accentuate.uk.com now.

Accentuate supports businesses, education and training providers and charities in the North East to improve employability among young people in the region.
