New phase of development begins

Tuesday 27 November 2012 5:00

A business hub for SMEs in Newcastle is to be expanded due to strong demand for both short and long term occupancy deals.

The Spaceworks in Gosforth, which was developed by one of its current occupants, architectural group _space, will undergo a new phase of development that will add seven new offices to the centre.

A ground floor suite will be refurbished into offices available for permanent and temporary working arrangements.

The building is currently at full capacity with around 15 companies now based there. Rob Charlton, CEO of _space, said: “Businesses are beginning to look at their workforces and how they are going to deliver services in the future.

“After seeing a demand for ‘desk only’ space through to more permanent offices, we have responded by developing a wide range of spaces on flexible terms to suit differing business needs.”
