Phusion eyes global growth

Monday 10 December 2012 5:00

International engineering information management specialist Phusion is poised to announce `significant’ new contract wins in the UK and Australia.

The company, formerly Pearson-Harper, which has just rebranded and renamed itself as Phusion, hopes to announce the contracts in January.

Managing director Alex Hayward referred to the new contracts when announcing the rebrand.

He said: “It’s always a challenge to introduce change as fundamental as a new business name. Yet we believe we will bring the new Phusion brand to the global market smoothly and effectively, especially as we are poised to announce major contract wins in the New Year, both in the UK and in Australia.’’

A spokeswoman explained that the firm could provide no details at this stage but that the contracts will be significant and will be with different customers in Australia and the UK.

She said: “We’ve had an explosion of growth and that will be continuing through these new contracts,’’

Phusion, based in Teesside and Perth, Australia, has created new branding, logo and a completely redesigned website reflecting the change in its registered name which has been a long-established product brand within the business.

Phusion is an engineering and IT specialist which integrates, clarifies and manages information for multi-million pound capital petrochemical projects.

Executive chairman Steve Pearson, who this month became Teesside Business Executive of the Year, said: “Phusion is a virtually unique business, blending excellent engineering expertise with innovative web-hosted IT.

"We’ve grown massively over the last two years, almost trebling in size, and we’ve got a magnificent team of people both in the UK and Australia.  I’m really confident and very excited for our future and for the benefits we will continue to bring to our clients.

He added: “We firmly believe that renaming to Phusion is the right decision for the business at this time, and will lead to greater global awareness and understanding of our services across different industry sectors.”

Last week Phusion was named Company of the Year 2012 and the International Business of the Year by NOF Energy, the business support organisation for oil, gas, nuclear and offshore renewables, at its annual dinner and awards at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield, County Durham.
