Waste firm gallops to racecourse contract

TDC Waste Management, based in Fencehouses , County Durham has won a contract to provide complete waste management services to Musselburgh Racecourse near Edinburgh.

The company has acquired three new vehicles and has taken on six staff to service the contract which marks a significant expansion of its operations in Scotland.

Initially Musselburgh will be serviced from a Borders depot but the intention is to open another dept in East Lothian and Berwickshire area.

TDC provides trade waste management services for bagged and wheelie bin rubbish from a range of retail and commercial enterprises. This includes normal trade waste from business such as restaurants, pubs and shops to other trade and manufactured waste from workshops, industrial units and factories.

Managing director Scott Hawthorne said: “We have been operating our waste management services in the Scottish Borders for some time and are delighted that we can expand our trade waste services further into Scotland.’’

He added: “We are proud to say that TDC are now the largest privately owned trade waste collector in the North East and Scottish Borders.”
