Property consultancy creates new jobs

Property consultancy Robertson Simpson is expanding in the North opening new offices and creating jobs.

The firm, which already has offices in Gateshead and Sunderland, has expanded its North East network by setting up its third office in the region, in Stockton-on-Tees, creating six jobs.

And in the next 12 months it plans a Leeds office with the same number of new jobs and a North West office.

A spokeswoman said: “Leeds will be the next stage with about six people and the North West, where the location has yet to be decided, will be after that and will be a bit smaller.’’

Founder and managing director of the business Mark Robertson said: “Our teams in Gateshead and Sunderland have seen a period of rapid expansion in recent months and despite many firms within the property sector continuing to find the market conditions difficult, we have seen strong and continued growth across all areas of the business.”

He added: “In looking to the future, it is clear that there is the opportunity to open at least one additional office within the first half of 2013. We plan to create new jobs and bring in further staff members that will enhance the high standards of service that we already offer across our client base which is continuing to grow month on month.”

The Stockton office, based at Surtees Business Centre on Preston Farm Business Park, will be headed up by Matthew Clarke who joined Robertson Simpson last year having previously spent more than 12 years at Sanderson Weatherall.

Clarke said: “There has been increasing demand from our clients for us to have a presence in Teesside and the Stockton office will provide us with a base from which to service existing customers but also to take advantage of new opportunities that exist within the region. We will be looking to service the area that runs down the A19 corridor from County Durham, through Teesside and into North Yorkshire and our focus for the coming months will be on building the reputation of the firm and growing the team in Stockton.”

The team has been boosted by the recent arrival of Emma Turnbull as a senior chartered valuation surveyor and business valuer. She joined Robertson Simpson from Pinders Property Consultants.

Robertson Simpson was established in 2002 and employs 25 members of staff across its three offices.
