Recruitment firm heads north

Tuesday 4 December 2012 6:18

A London recruitment firm is to open an office in the North East as its Newcastle-born boss bids to use his hometown as a base to grow a national presence.

Christie Mills, which is headquartered on London’s Regent Street, says it will recruit around 15 people in the coming years following its decision to open an office in Newcastle.

The search firm specialises in executive level appointments within professional services and, since its inception two years ago, has completed significant mandates in Paris, Stockholm, London, Leeds, Newcastle and even Hong Kong.

The firm was founded by Dylan Christie who says that high sales growth and recent investment from a business angel, has led to its expansion into the North East.

He said: “It’s been a really exciting couple of years building Christie Mills in London from scratch. However, Newcastle is my home and we’ve decided to buy an office and build a team there, giving us truly national coverage. “

The company recently appointed Sam Wall, who brings over eight years specialist professional services recruitment experience. Christie added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Sam across at a time when we’re growing our customer base across the UK and now looking to strengthen our team further by recruiting more specialist executive search consultants.”

Christie Mills says its sales increased by over 35% in 2012, and has the backing of angel investors in London and Newcastle.
